• Measure and Mark: Use a tape measure to mark the installation position—ensure it is centered in the balcony/terrace, with at least 30cm of space from walls, windows, or other fixtures (to avoid blocking the rack’s lifting movement or air flow for drying functions). Mark the drill points according to the rack’s mounting bracket dimensions.
• Prepare Tools and Accessories: The installation kit usually includes expansion bolts, screws, mounting brackets, and a hex key. Additional tools (drill, level, pencil, tape measure) may be needed; confirm with the brand in advance.

2. Core Installation Steps (for Ceiling-Mounted Models, the Most Common Type)

• Drill Holes and Install Expansion Bolts: Use a drill (matching the size of expansion bolts) to drill holes at the marked points. Insert expansion bolts into the holes and tighten them with a wrench—ensure they are firmly fixed (pull gently to check stability).
• Mount the Main Frame: Attach the rack’s main frame to the mounting brackets using screws. Use a level to confirm the frame is horizontal (uneven installation may cause jitter during lifting). Tighten all screws completely to avoid loosening.
• Connect Electrical Components: Route the power cord through a hidden or safe path (avoid exposure to water or friction). Connect the cord to a dedicated power outlet (preferably with a ground wire to prevent electric shock). Test the power supply to ensure the control panel (or remote) can turn on the rack.
• Install Drying Rods and Accessories: Attach the retractable drying rods, UV lamps, or built-in lights (if included) to the main frame. Ensure they are correctly aligned—drying rods should move smoothly without obstruction, and accessories should be securely fastened.

3. Post-Installation Testing and Adjustment

• Function Tests: Test the electric lifting function (raise and lower the rods 2–3 times) to check for smooth movement and no abnormal noises. Activate drying/UV functions to confirm they work normally. Test the obstacle-sensing emergency stop: place a soft object (e.g., a pillow) under the descending rods—they should stop immediately.
• Adjustments: If the rods are uneven or the lifting is jittery, recheck the frame’s levelness and tighten loose screws. If the remote control fails to respond, replace its batteries or re-pair it with the rack (follow the brand’s instructions).

4. Key Precautions

• Professional Installation is Recommended: Smart automated laundry racks involve electrical components and structural loading—avoid DIY installation unless you have relevant experience. Most brands include free professional installation in the product package.
• Avoid Water Exposure for Electrical Parts: Ensure the power outlet and control panel are not near water sources (e.g., balcony sinks). If the balcony is not waterproof, install a waterproof cover for the outlet.
